Mugenkyo teach workshops at their base in Central Scotland, the Mugen Taiko Dojo – a purpose-built taiko drumming centre, the first of its kind in Britain.

Weekend workshops at the Dojo attract participants from all over the UK and beyond, with participants from as far afield as London, Inverness, Belfast, Paris, Amsterdam. Workshops and courses are taught to a high standard, from beginners to advanced by professional players, in a disciplined yet friendly environment.

The introductory workshops cover the fundamentals of taiko, and are suitable for all levels of ability and fitness, whether you’re an experienced drummer or have never held a pair of drumsticks before – all are welcome.

Follow-on workshops aim to gain a deeper understanding of the world of taiko drumming, and learn different rhythms. Advanced classes provide a greater mastery of technique, to develop skill and attain a higher level of proficiency. The Dojo also provides the opportunity to attend master-classes by special guest teachers invited from Japan.
