PERFORMING MEMBERS
Neil Mackie
Founding member of Mugenkyo, trained with Kurumaya Sensei in Fukui on the west coast of Japan for two years, returning to the UK in 1994 to form the group with Miyuki Williams. Originally a kit drummer in a variety of rock bands in hometown Bristol and London, Mackie always had a yearning to play drums standing at the front of the stage, and found taiko! Powerful Odaiko big drum player and Jiuchi base rhythm comandante, Mackie is the visionary and driving force of the group, relentlessly pushing the group ever forward.

Miyuki Williams
Co-founder of Mugenkyo, also
trained in Japan under Kurumaya Sensei. Born of a Japanese mother and
Welsh father, she spent her childhood in Indonesia, Malaysia & USA.
As a child Miyuki studied the piano and Nihon Buyo classical Japanese
dance, which have influenced her playing style. A powerful and graceful
player with incredible stamina, Miyuki expresses her joy of life through
her playing and teaching. |

Her latest venture has been learning the Shamisen Japanese stringed lute. As well as excelling at movement and taiko choreography, Teresa is also an instructor at the Dojo, and the main teacher for the Mugen Taiko Dojo schools outreach work. |
